Guide, Qinghai: Spring Ploughing Starts Along Yellow River

Recently, in Guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, residents dressed in festive costumes came to the fields carrying steamed buns for spring farming (known as “Tonggao” in Tibetan). They kicked off the spring farming season with the ceremonial first plowing in the traditional way known as “two bulls lifting the plow”. With the ceremony, they expressd their profound aspirations for national prosperity, social stability, favorable climatic conditions, and bountiful harvests.
