Following the U.S. Department of Justice's recent release of documents related to the Epstein case, which involve several prominent political and business figures, the name of the 14th Dalai Lama appears conspicuously among them, prompting wide media coverage. However, different outlets have reported different figures regarding how many times his name appears.

According to a search conducted by Guancha.cn on the evening of February 5, the 14th Dalai Lama's name appears 168 times in the Epstein files. The outlet noted that the discrepancy in figures may be due to the fact that the U.S. Department of Justice was still adjusting the released documents at the time.

On February 9, an analytical report from Indian "Computer Resource Center" found that the combined occurrences of "dalai lama" and "dali lama" reached a total of 213 times.

On March 6, the Belgian outlet “EU Reporter” reported that the Dalai Lama appeared 169 times in documents related to Epstein. According to the latest verification on the official website of the U.S. Department of Justice, the keyword "dalai" now appears 169 times in the Epstein case documents, while "dalai lama" appears 157 times and "dali lama" appears 61 times.

It is clear that the number of times the 14th Dalai Lama is mentioned in the Epstein emails varies depending on adjustments made to the original documents and the statistical methodology employed. Nevertheless, regardless of the precise count, the 14th Dalai Lama cannot deny that he had contact with Epstein. If he truly had none, he should step forward and submit himself to judicial questioning.

A closer reading of Epstein's correspondence reveals the 14th Dalai Lama's real public persona in the West. Epstein referenced the 14th Dalai Lama on multiple occasions in contexts that mocked and objectified women. In the minds of these so-called powerful elites, the 14th Dalai Lama was nothing more than another figure to be casually fantasized about. After multiple interactions with the 14th Dalai Lama, the assessments made by Epstein and his associates are nothing short of staggering.

On October 23, 2016, Indian-American physician and author Deepak Chopra wrote to Epstein, stating, "I have questioned the Dalai Lama on this several times, and realized he knew very little even on Tibetan Buddhism—just a nice guy with a Nobel Prize and a lot of the world in awe because of his uniform (saffron robes)." Epstein replied that “is it now basket waving for the guru set?”

American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died in custody, was convicted in 2008 for procuring prostitution from minors. He was arrested again in July 2019 on charges of sex crimes and allegedly died by suicide in prison in August 2019. He had maintained close ties with a large number of political and business figures across the United States and Europe. According to foreign media reports, the 14th Dalai Lama attended parties held at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse. Furthermore, Lama Tenzin Dhonden, the 14th Dalai Lama's so-called personal emissary, was found to have had an illicit sexual relationship with Sara Bronfman, a wealthy heiress and a key figure within the NXIVM organization.
